my home is an RV--a five-minute friday post

if home is where your heart is,
then my home is like an rv.

it moves
it shakes
and sometimes
it might even rattle a bit.

but oh, how it takes me places.



places far
places wide
sometimes close and near
that never leaves the confines of these walls officially called "home."

but it's always moving
always in and out
among the mountains and valleys
the terrains of the souls in which it travels.

the wonderful thing about spreading
one's heart out to
those around you
to giving and giving
and then, maybe,
giving just a bit more
yes

even when it hurts a bit

is that when the time comes
for these four gifts to spread their own wings
to make their own homes
to journey their own paths
find their own way. . .

there will be just that
many more places
for my lover & i
and our traveling hearts
to find
their home.
