in the dark of the early morning hours
you rise
and if my sleepy eyes can open
my body awaken
coffee on
i'll hear it~
i love you.
a simple text message during the day
a phone call checking in
you never fail
to make the connection
always ending with
i love you.
whenever you arrive or
before you depart
eyes finding mine
lip to lip
then a whisper
i love you.
i am ever knowing
ever aware
of life's gift
a moment
an essence
time's fleeting presence.
for all we have is today
here
and now
and wouldn't it be a shame
if seeing you again
never
came.
and i don't
want to be
the woman
who couldn't remember
the last words she spoke
the last words she heard
no, thank you, very much.
so say it again, sweetheart
go ahead~
i love you.

So beautiful This ---> "and I don't want to be the woman who couldn't remember- the last words she spoke - the last words she heard..." Yes - thank you for the reminder... just thank you.
ReplyDeleteI was just about to say exactly what Tonya said. This has been the best reminder for me today, caught up as I am in the whirlwind of raising a little baby. I'm sitting here and I don't know what I said to him before he left for work. Committing now to changing that.
ReplyDeleteAwww, girl. This is good, and how it fits perfectly with your blog title and mission. Paying attention. Noticing the here.
ReplyDeleteBeyond beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi dear Mary
ReplyDeleteWe women thrive from those words from our Husbands, don't we! You are so right we need to cherish every money we spent with them.
Much love XX
Mia
